Overview

The EXOTAP®-DC taps are the industry leading tap for processing threads in Cast Iron, Ductile Iron and Cast Aluminum. The combination of ultra-strong rake with our VC10 powdered metal substrate makes this tap the absolute best soltion for threading ductile castings.

Reduces friction during cutting, thereby minimizing heat generation and extending life.

Straight flute design

Most rigid cut tap design, suitable for both through and blind holes.

Multi-layered TiCN (V) coating from OSG

The layered configuration resists thermal cracking while increasing surface hardness to extend life up to 3X vs monolayered TiCN.

Available DIN or ANSI oberall lengths, coolant-through or solid, metric and inch, up to 1" or M24.

Absolute versatility for any machining operation in Ductile Iron.

Utilize the coolant-thru the tool option for machines with spindle-through coolant to further optimize performance.

 

Combine with synchronized tapping and tap at speeds of 200~300 SFM in Cast Iron and beyond in Aluminum.
